Cellavie's RE-GEN 2 Module Discharger is a modular deep-discharge unit for individual battery modules: the module-level counterpart to the RE-GEN 90, used where discharging happens at the module stage of disassembly. Built in 2 kW blocks, units combine into up to 24 × 2 kW channels or 12 × 4 kW channels, always operating with the brains and the inverter of the RE-GEN 90.

The RE-GEN 2 Module Discharger brings Cellavie's regenerative deep discharge down to module level: where the RE-GEN 90 discharges full packs, the RE-GEN 2 deep-discharges individual battery modules at the module stage of disassembly. It is a modular component rather than a standalone machine: built in 2 kW blocks that combine into up to 24 × 2 kW channels (or 12 × 4 kW channels), always operating with the brains and the inverter of the RE-GEN 90.

  • Module-level deep discharge: takes modules or cells via DC connection (0–100 V) down toward 0 V in CC mode
  • Regenerative: delivers the recovered energy to an internal 200 V DC bus; a RE-GEN pack discharger with power distribution module converts it to grid AC, so excess energy is offloaded to the grid or your BESS
  • Parallel throughput: up to 24 channels in parallel; 2 kW rated power per unit; throughput calculators available, also for mixed feedstock
  • Self-protecting: built-in pre-charge, overtemperature, overcurrent, and DC reverse-polarity protection
  • Precise CANbus control: live monitoring and control over CANbus, with 1% voltage / 5% current accuracy and 0.05 V / 0.1 A setup and readback resolution
  • Compact: 300 × 200 × 80 mm and 5 kg per unit; 24 units combine in a Rittal enclosure of 800 × 2250 × 1200 mm
  • CAPEX reducer: capacity scales by adding 2 kW blocks, and grid conversion reuses an existing RE-GEN pack discharger instead of dedicated grid hardware per module line

Like the pack discharger, the RE-GEN 2 is chemistry-agnostic, operating on electrical parameters and scoped specifically to modules. The system is TRL 8: tested, built, and deployed, though not yet used at large scale: with manufacturing readiness at MRL 7–8: a repeatable production system is in place, without yet a high-volume factory.
