Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 11, 2026

Electrification Academy Inc., a Delaware corporation with its operating address at 7089 W Woodbury Dr, Franklin, WI 53132, USA ("Electrification Academy", "we", "us"), operates the website electrification-academy.com, including the platform.electrification-academy.com subdomain, and the newsletter signup pages on electrification-academy.org (together, the "Services"). We are the data controller for the processing described in this policy.

This policy explains what personal data we process, why, on what legal basis, who receives it, and what rights you have. It applies to visitors, registered members, newsletter subscribers, and vendors who submit listing information.

1. Data we process automatically when you visit

When you access the Services, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc., USA) processes your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, and timestamps in server logs. This is technically necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is retained for a limited period and is not used for profiling.

2. Cookies and consent

We use two categories of cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage):

  • Essential: sign-in state, your language preference, and your cookie-consent choice. These are required for the Services to function and are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the service you request.
  • Analytics: set only if you accept them via the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, no analytics run. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this website’s cookies and site data in your browser — the consent banner will then appear again on your next visit — or by emailing us at media@electrification-academy.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

With your consent, we use the following services to understand how the Services are used and to improve them. Each provider processes data on servers in the United States.

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC): pages viewed, on-page behavior, approximate location (country/city), technical device information, traffic source, and a shortened IP address. Analytics cookies persist for up to 24 months; user-level data is deleted after 14 months.
  • PostHog (PostHog Inc.): pageview and page-leave events and product-usage analytics, stored with a randomly generated identifier.

4. Member accounts

You can create an account by signing in with Google or LinkedIn. Authentication is processed by Supabase Inc. (USA). We receive and store your name, email address, and — where you provide them — company, role, and profile details. We use this data to operate your account, provide member features, and maintain the community. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We retain account data for as long as your account exists; you may request deletion at any time (see Section 10).

5. Newsletter and community emails

If you subscribe to our newsletter or join the community, we process your email address (and any details you provide, such as name, company, or role) via Klaviyo Inc. (USA) to send you the content you signed up for. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every email contains an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Transactional email (for example, form confirmations) is delivered via Resend (USA).

6. Contact and vendor submissions

When you use a contact form, the data you enter is delivered to our inbox and processed to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Form submissions are retained for up to 24 months. When a vendor submits listing information through our onboarding tools (company details, product information, images, contact persons), we process it to create and operate the listing, on the basis of the listing agreement with the vendor. Contact-person data in listings (such as name, role, and business contact details) is published as agreed with the vendor.

7. Search

Platform search is powered by Algolia (USA). Your search queries and technical request data are processed by Algolia to return results. We do not link search queries to your account profile.

8. Service providers

We share personal data only with service providers that process it on our behalf under data-processing agreements:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting, content delivery, server logs, and media storage (USA)
  • Supabase Inc. — account authentication and profiles (USA)
  • Google LLC — analytics (consent-based) and OAuth sign-in (USA)
  • PostHog Inc. — product analytics (consent-based) (USA)
  • Klaviyo Inc. — newsletter and marketing email (USA)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (USA)
  • Algolia Inc. — site search (USA)
  • LinkedIn Corporation — OAuth sign-in, when you choose it (USA)
  • Amazon Web Services — legacy media archive (USA)

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. International transfers

We are a US company and the providers above process data in the United States. Where the GDPR applies, transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for providers certified under it, and otherwise on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR/UK GDPR): you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdrawal of consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it (this policy), to access and delete your personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA.

To exercise any right, email media@electrification-academy.com. We respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

11. Children

The Services are directed at professionals and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Data security and retention

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege service configuration) to protect personal data. We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law: account data for the life of the account, newsletter data until you unsubscribe, form submissions for up to 24 months, and analytics data per the retention periods stated in Section 3.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services evolve. The current version is always available at this page; material changes to how we process member data will be announced to members by email or in-product notice.
