Battery Module Manufacturing Process

Individual battery cells are inspected, cleaned, and tested to ensure consistency and compatibility before module assembly. This stage may also include loading cells into fixtures, surface preparation, application of adhesives or thermal interface materials (TIM).

Prepared cells are assembled into the module’s structural frame. This stage includes accurate cell placement, frame joining and installation of compression features such as tension bands or pressure pads to ensure mechanical stability and thermal performance.

Cells are electrically connected using busbars to achieve the desired voltage and capacity. The BMS is integrated via sensing circuits, with strategically placed sensors for voltage and temperature monitoring. Welding methods ensure strong joints and potting may be used for additional protection.

The module lid is securely attached to the module frame to ensure the right level of environmental protection is achieved. Labels are then applied to provide assembly serial numbers for traceability, technical specification and safety warnings—completing the module for final testing.
