  • The Envaion VIO-10 Pro is a purpose-built transport container for critically damaged lithium-ion batteries, designed to maintain containment integrity even under potential thermal-runaway conditions.
  • It consists of a reinforced HDPE (high-density polyethylene) outer bin, a fitted HDPE lid with mechanical locks, and a multi-layer inlay system lined and filled with AkkuGrain®— a tested and proven patent pending, grain-based smart material that reduces thermal runaway propagation, lowers available oxygen levels, and neutralizes toxic gas release during lithium-ion battery failures.
  • Material loading begins by placing batteries on the bottom horizontal inlay, which provides stable support and distributes weight evenly across the container floor. Vertical inlays on all four sides create a defined compartment while preventing lateral movement. Empty spaces can be filled with AkkuGrain® bags to eliminate voids, isolated conductive areas, and minimize mechanical impact on the batteries. After loading, two top inlay layers are placed above the batteries to complete the protective enclosure.
  • AkkuGrain® is a proprietary, heat-activated material that neutralizes toxic gases, cools overheated batteries, and suppresses thermal events, enabling certified battery transport under P911 and DOT special condition. It performs active thermal and gas mitigation by chemical absorption of toxic gases released during lithium-ion thermal runaway events, release of moisture from micro-porous structures to cool and slow thermal propagation and effective heat buffering.
  • A special fire blanket is installed on top of the inlay system prior to closing the container. It attaches to the upper wall inlays to create a uniform barrier with no gaps. This blanket provides additional thermal shielding and prevents ejection of particulate material in case of internal failure. The HDPE lid must close flush along the container perimeter to ensure proper sealing and structural stability; all locking mechanisms must be fully engaged and free of damage.
  • In the event of a thermal event, users must not open the container for at least 24 hours and must follow local emergency procedures. The box itself is designed solely for lithium-ion battery transport and should not be used for other materials.
  • For logistics handling, the VIO 10 Pro is designed for forklift operation through integrated openings. The unit must not be lifted manually due to its weight. Stacking is permitted up to three levels, depending on regulatory limits and surface conditions. The container is compatible with Euro-size handling systems, enabling integration into existing automotive and recycling logistics workflows.
